From Bauhaus to Our House - Mid-Century Modernism in the Coachella Valley In-Person
Join representatives of the Palm Springs Modern Committee for a special a one-hour talk entitled 'From Bauhaus to Our House - Mid-Century Modernism in the Coachella Valley'. The talk will consider how the Coachella Valley became a living museum of desert modern architecture. What makes a building Mid-Century Modern? Who are the architects that created the unique collection of desert modernism architecture in our valley? You will enjoy this free, informative and entertaining talk!
Joan Gand is the Chair of Education for PS ModCom and has served on the Board of the Chicago Architecture Center. She is the co-author of the book Julius Shulman, Chicago Mid-Century Modernism and has recently completed the restoration of two mid-century homes in California.
Mimi Fisher has always had a keen interest in architecture and graphic design. She has served on the Board of the Palm Springs Art Museum's former Architecture and Design Council and is a member of the PS ModCom Education Committee.
