Gem Studies: Quartz In-Person
Gem Studies: Quartz
(Ages 7+)
Inspired by the Joe and Gigi Roberson Mineral Collection, we invite young geologists to discover more about several selected minerals. During each session, we'll highlight and examine a specific stone. Sessions stand alone, so patrons may attend one or all three.
Quartz is one of the most common minerals on earth. Participants will learn facts about quartz and mica, visit the mineral collection to see examples up close, and do a scientific experiment creating pipe cleaner borax crystals.
