Learning in Retirement Series • Birds: The Old Song and Dance In-Person
Join us for these free lecture programs to get a taste of what Learning in Retirement (LIR) has to offer! LIR offers a variety of courses both in person and online for retirees, taught by experts and former teachers who love to share their passions. Low cost, six-week courses cover current events, history, medicine, languages, technology, nature, and many other topics. For more information visit lirpalmdesert.com, or search "LIR Palm Desert" on Facebook or YouTube.
Birds sing to attract a mate; some of them even dance. Over the eons, their courtship displays have evolved into complex rituals. Learn why both male and female birds play this elaborate dating game.
Shortly after retiring here from Minnesota, Nancy Dowling began teaching for LIR and enjoying longer vacations to search for new birds. An avid reader with degrees in English and French, she teaches classes on literature (short stories) as well as birds.
